FIVE OF Co. Wexford’s top tourism attractions are to be branded across cartons of milk as part of a new promotion involving Wexford Creamery.
The deal is aimed at marketing heritage amenities within the county.
Significantly, the attractions cover all parts of south Co. Wexford and the scheme is aimed at both locals and visitors. The promotion will also give prospective visitors to the various sites the opportunity to visit them free-of-charge.
The five sites involved include Dunbrody Famine Ship, Hook Lighthouse and VisitorCentre, Knights and Rebels (Enniscorthy), the Irish Agricultural Museum (Johnstown Castle) and The Irish National Heritage Park.
The ‘Explore Wexford’ campaign will run on Wexford Creamery’s one and two-litre packs of fresh and low fat milk until the end of August this year.
Customers will be able to collect 25 tokens (1-litre carton will have one token and 2-litre cartons will have two tokens) and send them in to redeem a book of 5 vouchers which will allow a family of five (2 adults and 3 children) free entry into the five heritage sites.
Commenting on the scheme to the New Ross Echo, Neil Murphy, from Wexford Creamery, said: “We know how wonderful Wexford is and we want to make sure everyone else does too.
The spirit of co-operation between the tourism partners taking part in this promotion is inspirational.”
He said each of the amenities involved had been “very generous” and said that fact was “hugely important” in making the campaign a success.
“We are grateful to everyone involved and we hope our customers enjoy their visits and spread the word about their positive experiences,” he said.
